The Spanish club Barcelona has entered into negotiations with the Italian club Juventus to sign the player Federico Chiesa during the current summer transfer window. These negotiations came after Thiago Motta, the Juventus coach, announced that Chiesa was no longer part of his plans for the current season, reflecting the club’s desire to sell the player.
According to a report published by the Spanish newspaper “SPORT”, Barcelona has already begun contacts with Juventus and with Vali Ramadan, Chiesa’s business agent, in order to complete the deal. These contacts intensified last Wednesday with the aim of reaching a final agreement on the player’s transfer.
The report indicated that Juventus seeks to terminate the deal quickly, and therefore expressed its readiness to reduce the asking price from 15 million euros to 10 million euros, reflecting the desire of the Italian club to facilitate the transition process.
For his part, Federico Chiesa, who is 26 years old, agreed to move to Barcelona in the current season. He also expressed his agreement with the financial terms of his contract with the Catalan club, which means that the transfer now depends on reaching an agreement between the two clubs on the final details of the deal.
It is noteworthy that Chiesa joined Juventus in 2022 from the Fiorentina club. There is only one season left on his contract with Juventus, which gives him the right to transfer to any team for free starting next January. During his time with Juventus, Chiesa took part in 131 matches, during which he scored 32 goals and made another 23.
