Within the framework of the strategy of the General Authority for accreditation and health control to enhance the quality of health care and support medical tourism in Egypt in cooperation with all national state institutions to contribute to enhancing confidence in Egyptian health services, the General Authority for accreditation and health control “Gahar GAHAR” signed a joint cooperation protocol with EgyptAir Airlines.
The protocol was signed by Dr. Ahmed Taha, chairman of the General Authority for accreditation and Health Control, and pilot Mohamed Olayan, chairman and managing director of EgyptAir Airlines.
Following the signing ceremony, Dr.Ahmed Taha expressed his happiness with the signing of the protocol that combines the heritage of the National EgyptAir company and the General Authority for accreditation and health supervision GAHAR as the first Egyptian government entity specialized in granting “accreditation” to health facilities in accordance with the quality standards issued by the authority and internationally accredited by ESCWA.
Taha added that this cooperation comes with the aim of expanding the scope of partnership in the field of enhancing the quality of health care and supporting medical tourism in Egypt, to enhance the presence of the accreditation and Health Supervision Authority at the international level through marketing of accredited health facilities and their distinguished health services and the services of the authority through EgyptAir flights, to introduce travelers from different countries of the world to the existence of a national Egyptian authority with internationally accredited quality standards applied within health care facilities in Egypt, headed by the EgyptAir hospital, which has the accreditation of “Jahar GAHAR” and the accreditation of “temus-Jahar” for medical tourism.
Taha praised the efforts and the national role played by EgyptAir within the framework of the strategy of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to promote the Egyptian air transport system, stressing his confidence in the capabilities and cadres owned by the National Company to enhance this cooperation. The chairman of the General Authority for accreditation and health supervision thanked EgyptAir for the warm welcome, adding that the authority provides many training and technical support services to health facilities to serve all sectors and categories of the health system in Egypt.
For his part, pilot Mohamed Alyan, chairman of the board of directors and managing director of EgyptAir Airlines, stressed that this cooperation comes from the community role played by the National Company in light of the strategy of the Ministry of aviation towards supporting government agencies and organizations that contribute to serving the Egyptian citizen and providing all the necessary facilities for them to perform their role and enhancing aspects of cooperation to activate medical tourism in Egypt.
The cooperation protocol includes the role of the National EgyptAir company as the official carrier of the flights of the General Authority for accreditation and health control, as well as the sponsorship of EgyptAir for the national initiatives undertaken by the authority to spread the culture of quality of health care, and the protocol also includes the benefit of the National Company from the scientific expertise and training courses of the authority in qualifying medical staff working in hospitals and health facilities affiliated to EgyptAir on the quality standards issued by the authority, which contributes to upgrading the level of medical services provided and achieving adherence to the highest standards of quality and safety.
