The Egyptian artist Elham Shahin has been subjected to a lot of criticism recently following the appearance of her previous statements about the primacy of working on prayer, where she talked about the director who left the filming to perform prayer at her time.
“Shahin’s” circulating statements refer to a video filmed years ago during a seminar for the artist, while she recently reappeared on social networking sites, causing a wide controversy, prompting a number of elders and advocates to respond and comment on her.
For her part, Suad Saleh, professor of comparative jurisprudence at Al-Azhar University, commented through the details Program on Elham Shahin’s statements, saying: “I am surprised that when a person initiates obedience to Allah and prayers, he is a door to ridicule and ridicule,” adding: “I say to the author of this statement.. How old are you and you are still far from the morals prescribed by Allah”.
“It is not the artist’s right to criticize those who obey God and his messenger, and wants to return to the right path,”Suad Saleh continued.
On the other hand, Saad al-Din al-Hilali, professor of comparative jurisprudence at Al-Azhar University, defended the artist Ilham Shahin, saying that she was subjected to “doctrinal bullying”.
Al-Hilali called during his interview on the program “the tale” to “end the state of bullying, because Allah says in his holy book:”O you who believe in yourselves, no one will harm you if you turn to Allah, the reference of all of you, and he will tell you what you have been doing”.
He considered that the artist Ilham Shahin “has a point of view, “pointing out that”her logic is based on the fact that what she does is a job to earn a living, and we can license the matter of prayer and make it at the end of her time, as her times are expanding, and the logic of those who criticize her believes that this is fun and entertainment, and that prayer as a duty is provided for fun and play.
“It was reported that the Prophet Muhammad was combining prayers without an excuse for travel or rain, using the legitimate license,”he continued.
In addition to the above, Sheikh Khalid Al-Jundi, a member of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, entered the state of controversy caused by the artist Ilham Shahin, as he stressed in the program “may they understand” that “prayer at the time is a matter of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet”.
Al-Jundi added:” the issue was raised in a very sudden and strange way for people, as if we wish that the hour would rise so that we would not hear such talk, “referring to the Hadith of the Prophet: “about Ibn mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, he said, I asked the messenger of Allah: what kind of work I love to Allah, he said: prayer for its time. He said, ‘ which one?’ He said: then the parents were justified. He said, ‘ then which?’ He said: “Jihad is for the sake of Allah”.
He considered that” prayer for its time is more important than jihad for the sake of Allah and the righteousness of parents, according to the Hadith”.
He explained: “it is refreshing that we delay the prayer for its time”” pointing to the Holy Verse: “And if you are among them, pray for them, so let a sect of them rise up with you and take their weapons, and if they prostrate themselves, let them be behind you, and another sect comes who did not pray, let them pray with you and take their caution and their weapons, and those who disbelieve, if they overlook your weapons and your belongings, they lean on you one mile, and there is no Wing on you, if you are hurt by rain or you are sick, lay down your weapons and take care, for Allah has prepared for unbelievers a humiliating punishment.
In the context of this controversy, the artist Elham Shahin told the newspaper “Al-Masry Al-Youm”, commenting: “a clear campaign against me, and it is clear that I am very busy with them and my opinions, and my name is sold for them and my opinions belong to me, I do not impose it on anyone”.
Regarding the comments on social media about her, Elham Shahin said: “I am sincerely interested in social media and people who have fun, it is an imaginary world for me, and I know that I have enemies and I know the reasons, and in the end the dogs bark and the convoy is walking,” as she described.
She continued: “even if he sees, they will make up words and claim that I said it so that they will attack me, Petty and helpless people have fun “. People may be spiteful and hateful because my personality bothers them, or cajoles them or drives them crazy, every day stories and dialogues on Elham Shahin, do not interest me and do not concern me, and I tell these patients to die of your hatred,” she said.
