During his speech, the minister of youth and sports stressed the keenness of the Egyptian state to support African efforts in the sports field and strengthen joint cooperation between the member states of “Anoka” to contribute to the development of African sports at various levels, pointing out that Egypt is working with its partners in the African Union and the National Olympic committees to provide preparation and qualification programs for athletes within the African continent to ensure their strong participation in international tournaments, especially the Olympic Games.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi pointed out the need to focus on investing in sports infrastructure and developing sports facilities, which contributes to creating a supportive environment for the talents of African youth, and enhances the continent’s hosting opportunities for major tournaments, explaining that cooperation with international sports organizations is necessary to enhance the status of African sports, and seek to achieve strategic partnerships with international bodies to support sports development programs in the continent.
The minister of Sports praised the efforts of “Anoka”, which is the largest sports entity that brings together the National Olympic committees in Africa, and aims to coordinate efforts among member states to promote Olympic sports on the continent.
At the end of his speech, Sobhi stressed that Egypt will remain a major supporter of all efforts aimed at developing African sports, expressing his appreciation for the role played by the Anoka Federation in strengthening coordination between member states to achieve a comprehensive sports renaissance in Africa
