
Prof. Sherif Refaat is recognized as one of the prominent figures in Egyptian higher education. Over the past years, he has held several key positions that contributed significantly to enhancing university performance and improving the quality of education. He previously served as Vice President of Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) for Education and Student Affairs, as well as Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. In addition, he has served as Professor and Head of the Chest Diseases Department at the Faculty of Medicine, Fayoum University.

Prof. Refaat has extensive experience in managing complex academic affairs, developing strategic plans for university education, and supervising curriculum development in accordance with quality assurance and accreditation standards. He also played a notable role in supporting community service initiatives and environmental development during his previous tenure, earning him wide respect within the academic community.
His appointment is expected to contribute to strengthening Deraya University’s position as a leading private institution in Upper Egypt by advancing the educational system, supporting faculty members, and enhancing academic programs to align with global developments in higher education.
