Expansion of Misr University of Science and Technology with the Establishment of a New Building and Addition of the College of Medicine in Teba, Luxor
The Cabinet has approved the amendment of certain provisions of Presidential Decree No. 245 of 1996, regarding the establishment of “Misr University for Science and Technology.” It is proposed to replace the text in Article (1) with the following: “Misr University for Science and Technology shall be established as a private university with legal personality, with headquarters in 6th of October City, Giza Governorate, and in the new city of Teba, Luxor Governorate. Its main purpose is education and scientific research without profit-making.”
A new clause (14) has been added to Article 2 of Presidential Decree No. 245 of 1996, including the establishment of the “College of Medicine,” and studies in the college will commence after the establishment and operation of the university hospital, upon approval by the Private Universities Council and verification of the operational program.
After the addition of the College of Medicine, the headquarters of Misr University for Science and Technology in the new city of Teba, Luxor Governorate, will consist of a diverse range of colleges, including the College of Medicine, as well as colleges of Dentistry, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Health Sciences Technology, Pharmacy, Engineering, Special Education, Information Technology, Management and Economics, Languages and Translation, Media and Communication Arts, Biotechnology, and Management of Archaeological Sites and Museum Sciences.
