Tension and escalation continue between Egypt and Israel, after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stuck to his presence on the Philadelphia axis, and repeatedly accused Egypt of smuggling weapons to Hamas leaders, a new Egyptian response came, on Thursday, to these accusations.
Failed.. And genocide
The Egyptian source added, according to” Cairo news”, that the past months have proved that Netanyahu is not interested in the return of Israeli detainees alive, as long as it contradicts his personal goals and interests.
Promotion of lies
A high-ranking Egyptian source said in statements on Wednesday that Netanyahu is paving the way through his allegations of smuggling weapons from Egypt to declare his security and political failure, especially with the failure to find prisoners or achieve any military victory.
He also pointed out that the dissatisfaction of all parties with the continued failure of the Israeli prime minister to reach a truce agreement has become public.
The source said that the Israeli Prime Minister is peddling lies to cover up his failure in Gaza.
Statements to distract attention
This came after Egypt expressed in a statement issued by the Ministry of foreign affairs on Tuesday, its complete rejection of the statements made by Netanyahu and through which he tried to use its name to distract the attention of Israeli public opinion and obstruct reaching a ceasefire deal and prisoner exchange.
Egypt also blamed the Netanyahu government for the consequences of making such statements, which aggravate the situation and are aimed at justifying aggressive and inflammatory policies that lead to further escalation in the region.
Broad Arab solidarity
It is noteworthy that Netanyahu’s anti-Egypt statements aroused the displeasure of a number of Arab countries, which issued statements rejecting these statements, while declaring their solidarity with Egypt in the face of Israeli allegations, among these countries are the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, and Iraq, and the league of Arab states issued a statement in this regard.
In a related context, the chief of staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, made a surprise visit on Thursday afternoon to inspect the security conditions and security procedures at the border with Gaza.
