In his speech, Dr. Ayman Ashour expressed his happiness to celebrate the fifty years of giving and excellence of the Faculty of engineering, Cairo University, which is a monument and symbol of academic leadership and a beacon of Science and knowledge in Egypt and the Arab world, explaining that Cairo University has not only graduated generations of learners, but has produced leaders and innovators who have distinguished themselves on the local and international scene, and have contributed effectively to the development of their various fields at the local, regional and international levels.
The minister pointed out that he graduated from the Faculty of engineering, Cairo University, distinguished statesmen who left their mark in the fields of leadership and management, and contributed their vast experience in achieving important national projects to support the development process in Egypt.
Dr. Ayman Ashour explained that the Faculty of engineering graduated many engineers who contributed to various fields of Engineering in Egypt and the Arab world, expressing his happiness and pride in celebrating the golden jubilee of Cairo University graduates, stressing that the ministry supports continuous efforts to enhance the quality of Education, prepare graduates capable of facing the challenges of the era, and make a positive impact in all fields.
The minister added that what the graduates of Cairo University have achieved has contributed to raising the University’s ranking in prestigious international rankings, including being among the universities classified in the Shanghai Ranking, reaching this year to the rank of 301-400 around the world among more than 1000 universities included in this ranking, and Cairo University has distinguished itself in the international rankings of programs, as it achieved, for example, the 50th place globally in the field of (food and Agricultural Sciences), and the 100th-150th place in the Shanghai Ranking in (mathematics and Computer Sciences), which is considered one of the leading disciplines at the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University and other specialties that have achieved distinction.
Dr. Ayman Ashour pointed out that Cairo University provides many educational pathways to contribute to the availability of education, and Cairo University currently includes several educational institutions, including Cairo State University, Cairo International University, and Cairo National University, pointing out that Cairo University plays an important role in serving the community through what its university hospitals offer, such as: Qasr Al-Aini Hospital, which is one of the oldest educational hospitals in Egypt, and one of the leading medical centers in the country, where medical and therapeutic services are provided, and since then has developed into an important Center for medical education and training in the field of Health.
Dr. Ayman Ashour extended sincere thanks and appreciation to the university administration and faculty members, and to all those who contributed to achieving these achievements, stressing that the ministry provides all aspects of support to achieve further progress and development of this ancient academic edifice.
The minister highlighted the principle of international reference as one of the most important principles of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, which has received the support of the Egyptian state, praising the continuous support provided by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, prime minister, to implement the objectives of the strategy and support the file of international rankings, which indicates the ranking of Egyptian educational and research institutions among different countries of the world.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Sami expressed his happiness to celebrate the golden jubilee of the College of Engineering in a touch of loyalty from the ancient college to its sons of scientists, engineers, creative people, industrialists, and architects, pointing to the long and eventful history of giving to the university, expressing his deep gratitude for the honor and presence of Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, prime minister, and senior statesmen at the ceremony.
The president of Cairo University reviewed the features of the activities, events and executive steps implemented by Cairo University recently, foremost of which is the continuation of the implementation of the goals and principles of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, pointing to the importance of the alliance of Universities of the Greater Cairo region, headed by Cairo University, which is concerned with the health sector, technology transfer, and works to link the outputs of practical research with the industrial and business sector, as well as the implementation of presidential and community initiatives, including the Presidential Initiative (a new beginning for Human building) through several axes, including the launch of many comprehensive development convoys in various disciplines, which He pointed to the participation of Cairo University centers in many national projects, in cooperation with various ministries and concerned authorities.
The president of Cairo University explained that the university is keen, with its leadership, to keep pace with the global knees, and has launched several days ago the strategy of Cairo University for artificial intelligence derived from the national strategy for artificial intelligence, stressing that the university is making many efforts to serve the educational and research process and community development, offering congratulations to all those who were honored with a message entitled Thanks and appreciation for their achievements and for the time and effort sacrificed in serving their homeland to achieve further progress and prosperity for the beloved homeland.
For his part, Dr. Hossam Abdel Fattah, dean of the College of Engineering, explained that the honored pioneers of the College from the batches of 1969 to 1973 have many achievements at the professional, academic and administrative level in various fields, and participated in the graduation of thousands of engineers and consultants who participated in national projects, pointing out that distinguished graduates of the college are Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Engineer Ibrahim its prestige and leadership.
The audience listened to the speeches of the representatives of the batch of 1972 and 1973, where former prime minister Ibrahim Mehleb delivered the speech of the pioneers of the graduates of the batch of 1972, expressing his happiness to deliver his speech as a representative of his batch, recalling some of the memories that gathered this batch, which was surrounded by despair at first due to the continuing effects of the 1967 war, but his colleagues armed with hope and optimism, and contributed strongly to the glorious October war in 1973, which was a good example of achieving heroism and sacrifices, pointing out that 1972 had the honor to participate in the October war, pointing to participation in the construction of the homeland after the end of the war to continue the development process, reviewing some of the major projects in which he participated Graduates of the batch, confirming that his colleagues have held many distinguished and senior positions inside and outside Egypt.
Dr. Ahmed Nazif, former prime minister, delivered the speech of the pioneers of the graduates of the 1973 batch, pointing out that the college graduated many distinguished engineers who held many important positions, pointing out that the 1973 batch contributed to the construction of the homeland after the end of the glorious October War, appreciating the role of all the batches that provided a lot to their beloved homeland, expressing gratitude by honoring pioneers and scientists in recognition of their efforts.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, former ministers, scientists and pioneers of the Faculty of engineering batches were honored (1969 – 1979 – 1971 – 1972 – 1973)، for their outstanding efforts and great scientific contributions in various fields.
