I received the doctor. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and international cooperation, and His Excellency Ambassador Saleh bin Eid al-Hosseini, ambassador of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Arab Republic of Egypt, to discuss ways to strengthen economic relations between the two countries and open new horizons within the framework of the priorities of the Egyptian government .
During the meeting, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat referred to the historical and close relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, both at the level of the two brotherly leaderships and peoples, stressing Egypt’s aspiration to develop the frameworks of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various fields.
She pointed out that the Egyptian state is keen to develop the investment environment and give way to the local and foreign private sector in order to increase the volume of investments, as empowering the private sector is a driver towards achieving sustainable growth in various sectors, and it also promotes job creation .
Dr. Rania Al-Mashat thanked the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi fund for development, for its outstanding role in supporting and financing development projects in Egypt in line with the development efforts pursued by the Egyptian government and the Egyptian state Vision 2030.
“Al-Mashat” pointed out the role played by the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and international cooperation to develop economic cooperation relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners, matching development financing with the Sustainable Development Goals and the importance of international partnerships to achieve a sustainable economy based on enhancing the efficiency of resource use and building multilateral and bilateral partnerships.
Regarding the current cooperation portfolio with the Saudi fund, Dr. Rania Al – Mashat pointed to the diversity of the cooperation portfolio with the Saudi fund for development, and the multiplicity of projects that have been funded in various fields of development, including health, education, catering, irrigation, electricity, transport, roads and bridges, agriculture, and housing, explaining that the fund’s projects being implemented in the Arab Republic of Egypt are( residential communities and King Salman university projects (Phase I – Phase II) within the framework of the Sinai Peninsula Development Program – the inauguration of horizontal silos for grain storage – the development of Qasr Al-Aini Hospital-the implementation of irrigation and drainage pumps – The project of establishing and equipping basic health care units
