He met Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians abroad, on September during his current visit to Abu Dhabi With His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, official spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration and director of the public diplomacy department, stated that Minister Abdel Ati conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, president of the United Arab Emirates, noting Egypt’s pride in continuous communication with the UAE political leadership through high-level mutual visits, stressing Cairo’s keenness that these meetings represent an impetus for the institutions of the two countries to work on further cooperation and coordination in a manner that meets the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
The minister stressed the importance of building on the achievements made at the level of bilateral relations, especially in the economic and trade fields and increasing Emirati investments in Egypt in various sectors.
Ambassador Abu Zeid added that the meeting witnessed an exchange of views and assessments on the ongoing developments in the region, the unprecedented escalation situation, ways to calm down and avoid further tension and escalation, in addition to reviewing the latest developments related to the Gaza Strip crisis, the Sudanese crisis, the security of the Red Sea and the situation in Libya and Somalia. It was agreed to continue consultations between the two sides on various issues and topics of mutual interest during the next stage.
At the end of the interview, His Highness The president of the UAE stressed his full appreciation to the Egyptian leadership and the great love and appreciation it has for Egypt and its people. His Highness also praised the achievements of Egypt during the last decade under the leadership of the president.
