On January 21, 2024, the Libyan government of Khalifa Haftar, headed by Osama Hammad, announced the signing of major contracts with Egyptian companies to implement projects for the construction of 11 new bridges distributed between the cities of Derna, Benghazi and Ajdabiya, and the signing ceremony was attended by the chairman of the reconstruction and Stabilization Committee Hatem Al-araibi, executive director of the fund for the reconstruction of Derna and affected areas Belkacem Khalifa Haftar, in addition to the head of the company “NEOM” engineer Ibrahim Ajdabiya, and three bridges in Benghazi, which contributes to improving infrastructure and enhancing stability in these affected areas.
As part of the development and structuring of the company, the position of chairman of the board of Directors of Neom was assigned to Dr. Asim al-Jazzar, the former minister of Housing, and recently signed with the fund for development and reconstruction of Libya contracts for a number of projects planned to be implemented in Derna and the cities of the Green Mountain, this step comes within the framework of the fund’s strategic vision for the development and reconstruction of all Libyan cities and regions.
