The Egyptian people’s support for the decisions of the political leadership regarding the displacement of Gaza residents

The Egyptian street is witnessing a wide interaction with the decisions of the political leadership on the Palestinian issue, especially in light of the talk about attempts to displace Gazans to Sinai. The positions of the Egyptian state were clear and decisive, rejecting any attempt to impose a new reality that threatens Egyptian national security or changes the nature of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

– Egypt’s firm position :

Since the beginning of the recent escalation in the Gaza Strip, Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, has confirmed its categorical rejection of any plan aimed at displacing Palestinians from their lands. The state has expressed this position in international and regional forums, stressing the need to preserve the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and establish their independent state on the 1967 borders.

– Wide popular support :

This official position was not separate from the will of the Egyptian people, but came as a reflection of their deep awareness of the Palestinian issue and their rejection of any prejudice to the sovereignty of the Egyptian territories. Social media sites have witnessed wide support campaigns, confirming that Egyptians stand behind their leadership in rejecting the displacement of Gaza residents. Many public figures and trade unions also expressed support for this position, considering that any attempt to force Palestinians to leave their homeland is a flagrant violation of historical rights and international law.

Reasons for the Egyptian refusal:

The Egyptian position is based on several main factors:

Protecting national security: any demographic change in Sinai may threaten the stability of the region and create security and political crises.

Forced displacement aims to end the Palestinian cause by depopulating their land and turning it into a humanitarian problem instead of an occupation issue.

Respect for national sovereignty: Egypt will not allow any external decision that affects its territory or imposes solutions that serve other parties at the expense of its stability.

– Egypt’s role in solving the crisis :

Egypt not only rejected the displacement, but also continued its active diplomatic role through pacification initiatives and the opening of negotiation channels between the parties. She also provided humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, stressing that the solution must be political and just, and not by imposing new facts by force.

– One last word :

The Egyptian position on the Palestinian issue has never been in doubt, Egypt has always been the main supporter of Palestinian rights. Today, the position of the political leadership reflects the unity between the state and the people, as Egyptians agree that their land is a red line, that Palestine will remain the central Arab issue, and there will be no solution except to guarantee the Palestinians their historical rights.
