At the beginning of the meeting, the prime minister welcomed the Saudi minister and his accompanying delegation, stressing Egypt’s keenness to strengthen joint cooperation with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the energy sector, in order to enhance the development goals of the two countries, pointing to his keenness to follow up the existing areas of bilateral cooperation in this sector, which culminates through the electricity interconnection project between Egypt and the kingdom, expressing his aspiration to complete this promising project according to the scheduled time frame.
The prime minister outlined some of the important steps being implemented by the Egyptian government as part of its plans to expand the implementation of new and renewable energy projects, through the efforts of the private sector, in order to strengthen the capabilities of the national electricity grid from clean energy sources.
For his part, the Saudi minister of energy expressed his happiness to be in Egypt to participate in the Important Event Conference and exhibition “aegps 2025” in honor of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, stressing the kingdom’s keenness to advance the frameworks of cooperation and partnership with Egypt in the fields of improving energy efficiency, supporting the electric grid, and implementing joint projects in the field of renewable energies, foremost of which is the electricity interconnection project between the Kingdom and Egypt, through the exchange of experiences with leading Saudi companies in this field.
