The grand imam confirmed a.Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Chairman of the Council of Muslim elders, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, King of the kingdom of Bahrain, during a telephone conversation, deepened relations between the kingdom of Bahrain and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and exchanged views on humanitarian challenges and Islamic issues.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Grand Imam reviewed the importance of the Islamic-Islamic dialogue and its urgent necessity, on which the kingdom of Bahrain is hosting an important conference early next year, stressing the need to work to reunite the nation, cohesion and solidarity among its various components in facing common challenges.
The Grand Imam expressed Al-Azhar’s pride in the strong relations it has with the kingdom of Bahrain, and his appreciation for the efforts exerted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to serve Islam, promote peace and coexistence, consolidate a culture of dialogue, and support the Palestinian cause and the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people, stressing the need for humanity to join the efforts of sincere leaders in order to establish peace in the region and the world.
For his part, His Majesty The King of Bahrain expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Grand Imam Ahmed al-Tayeb in serving Islam and Muslims, introducing the tolerant principles of the Islamic religion, and the role of his virtue and Al-Azhar in supporting the issues of the Arab and Islamic nation
