Mr. Mahmoud Fawzy, Minister of Parliamentary, Legal Affairs and political communication, met with a number of newly transferred ambassadors to head the Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad, today, September ٢٠٢٤, at the headquarters of the Ministry of foreign affairs in the administrative capital.

The minister began the meeting by greeting the ambassadors, expressing his happiness with this meeting and his appreciation for the role played by the ambassadors in strengthening diplomatic relations between Egypt and various countries, wishing them success in representing the country and preserving Egyptian interests abroad.

During the meeting, advisor Mahmoud Fawzi reviewed the ministry’s tasks regarding the parliamentary, legal and political communication aspects, pointing out that the addition of political communication is in fact a political message that reflects the state’s desire to achieve political openness, as it is a clear message that the government is open to all, and welcomes communication with all entities and not only political, to submit proposals, ideas and visions, as well as listening to criticism and complaints, cooperation and coordination with them to achieve the hoped-for continuous development, adding that the ministry is keen to invest time and effort in listening to young people and rehabilitating them and developing the appropriate political and parliamentary awareness for them.

“Fawzi added that the national dialogue is a tool and a communication channel that has been able to convey the voice of the simple citizen on various issues, and enhances the wide diversity of participants in terms of ages, specialties and geographical areas, as well as being an interactive platform for ministers with experts and political forces in various fields, stressing that the national dialogue is not only for a political purpose, but its impact has extended to the economic and social fields as well, contributing effectively to strengthening community unity and opening fruitful channels of communication between different intellectual spectrums, expressing his pride and appreciation for the permanent support received by the national dialogue from the political leadership and encouraging the president of the Republic and his response to the recommendations National dialogue.

In the same regard, the minister spoke about the coordinating role of the ministry between the national dialogue and the various ministries to implement the outputs of the first stage, noting that the first stage of the national dialogue identified قضية an issue for dialogue, the discussion of about 75% of which has been completed, the most recent was the issue of “pretrial detention”, and the discussion of the rest of the issues will be completed during the coming period.

On a parallel level, the minister reviewed the role of the ministry in the UPR report, the meetings that were held in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the permanent Higher Committee for Human Rights, and cooperation with concerned organizations, to contribute to the preparation of the draft report this year through government consultative meetings, with experts and with non-governmental organizations, explaining that Egypt is in the process of participating for the fourth time in the Universal Periodic Review Mechanism to be established next January in Geneva لمناقشة to discuss the comprehensive national report.
