On the sidelines of their participation in the ministerial meeting of the Council of the league of Arab states, the minister of Foreign Affairs and migration meets with his Algerian counterpart

The contract of Mr. Dr. Badr Abdelaty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and migration, held a bilateral meeting on September with Mr. Ahmed attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and national community abroad of the brotherly people’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, on the sidelines of their participation in the meeting of the Council of the league of Arab states at the ministerial level.

Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, the official spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration and supervisor of the public diplomacy department, said that Minister Abdel Ati began the meeting by congratulating on the presidential elections held in Algeria in the past few days, stressing the brotherly relations and deep historical ties that unite the two brotherly countries, which constitutes a solid base for joint action in facing the challenges plaguing the region, and in order to promote the interests of the two countries and peoples.

He pointed to Egypt’s keenness to implement the common vision expressed by the two heads of state to upgrade relations between the two countries to a strategic level in the political and economic aspects. He also stressed that the historical and cultural heritage between the two countries and the challenges facing them constitute a firm basis for consolidating a strategic relationship, framing joint action between the two countries in the face of the crises rippling through the region, praising the great development witnessed by the level of coordination and political consultation between the two countries, especially in light of the attention paid by the political leadership to relations with brotherly Algeria.

The spokesman added that the minister of foreign affairs and migration briefed his Algerian counterpart on the latest developments related to the explosive situation in the Gaza Strip, and Egypt’s efforts and contacts with all actors to reach a ceasefire, contain the regional escalation and work to establish calm. He highly appreciated the role played by Algeria in supporting the Palestinian cause, especially through its non-permanent membership in the Security Council 2024 – 2025.
