According to a document obtained by “Al-Shorouk”, the Egyptian government aims to increase the contribution of expenditure on scientific research and development to 1.4% of the GDP during the period 2026-2027, up from the target of 1.2% in 2024-2025 and 1.8% by 2030. The government document emphasized the goals for the pre-university education stage, including reducing dropout rates through early intervention, developing executive plans to reduce dropout cases, prioritizing the rights of people with disabilities in education, increasing the number of specialized teachers with appropriate skills and competencies, and completing the Digital School initiative in Egypt and expanding its implementation in community education schools in several governorates.
At the university education stage, the state, according to the document, seeks to integrate students with disabilities into the student community and benefit from their exceptional abilities and creativity. It also focuses on launching student initiatives and projects that promote cooperation, innovation, and excellence among students from all Egyptian universities and institutes to support the issue of inclusion and enhance harmony and solidarity among students. Additionally, the state aims to provide a number of scholarships for outstanding young people from Sinai, whether in public and private Egyptian universities or abroad.
