The secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Badawi, expressed the council’s solidarity and full stand with Egypt against the provocative statements of the Israeli occupation, which aim to distort Egypt’s image and offend its leading and significant role in the region, and its obvious efforts in mediation to resolve the crisis in Gaza.
Badawi stressed that Egypt has a pivotal role in promoting regional and international stability through its continuous efforts in mediation to achieve calm and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people since the outbreak of the crisis, according to the Saudi news agency (SPA).
Al-Badawi stressed the GCC’s complete rejection of such irresponsible statements, which do not serve peace in the region but contribute to increasing tension and aggravating the situation, stressing the need for the Israeli occupation to abide by international principles and signed agreements as well as to stop its aggressive approach in Gaza and all Palestinian areas.
Badawi reiterated the GCC countries ‘ unwavering support for Egypt in its tireless efforts to strengthen security and stability in the region, and joint work to achieve the lofty goals that Unite Arab and Islamic countries in the face of common challenges.
